Utility Partner Program

In 2017, NextSite partnered with Georgia Power as our first utility partner. Since then, NextSite has partnered with utility companies across the United States and continues to engage additional utility partners. Through the Utility Partner Program, NextSite has successfully connected over 23 million square feet of projects to developers, tenant reps and property owners in these utility footprints. These projects have included retail, hospitality, multi-family, healthcare, senior housing or some combination thereof.

Our Partners

NextSite’s current Utility Partners include Southern Company Operating Companies - Alabama Power, Georgia Power, Mississippi Power and Nicor, NextEra Energy’s Operating Company Gulf Power and Ameren's Operating Companies - Ameren Illinois and Ameren Missouri.

Projected Full-Time Employment

These utility companies partnered with NextSite to become more actively involved in commercial development recruitment. NextSite’s focus on behalf of our utility partners is a thorough understanding of the market analysis and proactive recruitment opportunities within each community including retail, mixed-use, multi-family, senior housing, hospitality and workforce/middle-market housing. Through the NextSite partnership, each utility partner has negotiated and subsidized a more cost-effective engagement solution for its respective communities.

Through this initiative, the local community impact is commercial development growth, new jobs and additional tax revenue. The partner utility gets the benefit of a more prosperous community as well as new revenues from the sale of kilowatt hours and complementary products and services.
